C-Section Scar Release Therapy at Bloor West Retreat

  • A Cesarean section is a major abdominal surgery that affects multiple layers of tissue, fascia, muscles, nerves, and the body’s energetic pathways. Even after the scar is healed externally, many women may continue to experience:
  • Numbness or sensitivity
  • Tightness or pulling sensations
  • Discomfort with movement
  • Lower abdominal or pelvic tension
  • Feeling disconnected from the area

At Bloor West Retreat, we offer a gentle scar release treatment designed to support circulation, tissue mobility, nerve connection, and overall healing.

How the Treatment Works

Dolphin Neurostim Therapy

Dolphin Neurostim Therapy

We begin with the Dolphin Neurostim device, moving gently along both sides of the scar to stimulate the tissues, nerves, and circulation.

Acupuncture Scar Stimulation

Fine acupuncture needles are placed around the scar to encourage blood flow, collagen repair, tissue regeneration, and Qi movement.

Based on your individual Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) assessment, additional distal acupuncture points may also be used to:

  • Tonify blood
  • Support the immune system
  • Relax muscles and sinews
  • Promote healing and collagen repair
  • Calm shen and reduce stress
  • Support postpartum recovery

Infrared Light Therapy

We apply Celluma infrared light therapy to support the body’s natural repair and recovery functions.

Gentle Manual Release

Depending on the presentation of the scar, treatment may also include:

  • Light massage
  • Fascial release
  • Gentle dynamic cupping

C-Section Scars & TCM Channels

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, the lower abdomen is crossed by several important channels including:

  • Kidney
  • Spleen
  • Stomach
  • Liver
  • Ren Mai (Conception Vessel)
  • Chong Mai

Scar tissue may affect the smooth flow of Qi and blood through these pathways, sometimes contributing to tightness, numbness, discomfort, or stagnation.

More Than Just C-Section Recovery

This treatment approach may also help support the healing of:

  • Surgical scars
  • Internal scar tissue and adhesions
  • Older or newer scars
  • Injury-related scar tissue
  • Post-acne scars

When Can You Start?

Treatment can usually begin once the scar is fully healed and you are cleared by your doctor.

Many clients find this treatment deeply relaxing, grounding, and supportive during their healing journey.
